Buy End of the Trail (DVD)

This classic episode of NBC News' Project Twenty series presents an early look at the travesty of the frontier settlers' inhumane treatment of Native Americans in the West. Graphic photos and first person narratives taken from diaries debunk the classic, heroic notion of the old west in favor of tragic reality. Narrated by Walter Brennan.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseFull FrameAudio: Dolby Digital Stereo - English

Sister Helen (DVD) Sister Helen (DVD) » Sister Helen (DVD)

The world of Sister Helen Travis has unfolded in a manner which most nun's are totally unaccustomed to. Based in New York City, Sister Helen works within the South Bronx as a councillor for recovering drug addicts. But that's really only the tip of the iceberg in the Sister Helen story, as filmmakers Rob Fruchtman and Rebecca Cammisa highlight in this absorbing documentary. Her husband and sons all passed away due to their drug habits, and Helen herself is a recovering addict. Straight-talking and unafraid of using coarse language, this miraculous survivor is not afraid to tell it like it is. Taking a tough love approach to her patients, Sister Helen inspires both awe and fear in the people she works with, but her impressive recovery record speaks for itself. This candid portrait of her life paints a startling picture of a strong woman capable of delivering a single-minded vision on how life should be lived, with the intimidating figure of Sister Helen lingering in the memory long after the credits have rolled.DVD Features:Region (unknown)Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33Additional Release Material: Filmaker Commentary: 1. Hiding and Seeking (DVD) Hiding and Seeking (DVD) » Hiding and Seeking (DVD)

In a testimony to the power of tolerance, filmmaker Menachem Daum, his wife, and their sons travel to a Polish town where his father-in-law and his two brothers hid from the Nazis with a non-Jewish family for 28 months. Daum proposes the journey when he becomes increasingly worried that his ultraorthodox sons, who live in Israel, have become affected by a culture of interfaith intolerance and distrust. At first, Daum's family resists his idea, unwilling to explore the country of their family's persecution. But eventually they agree to go along. His father-in-law fears for their safety, and also worries that the Muchas, the family who hid him, will demand compensation or express anger over his failure to keep in touch with them after the war.As they travel to the Mucha farm, the family visits sites important to their history--visiting relatives' graves, and giving a blessing at a former synagogue--both emblems of a once-thriving Jewish community. Later, as Daum's wife and sons tour the farm, their cynicism gives way to raw emotion. After so many years, the Muchas find the expression of gratitude they seem desperately to have desired, and the Daums tearfully piece together their history. Ultimately Daum's journey begins to heal wounds between the two families and provides a solid foundation from which to increase interfaith tolerance, within his own family and the world.DVD Features:Region (unknown)Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33Additional Release Material: BiographiesText/Photo Gallery: Photo Gallery

Jungle Holocaust (DVD) » Jungle Holocaust (DVD)

Ruggero Deodato directed this cannibal movie just before his classic CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, the acme of the popular Italian cannibal subgenre of horror films and generally considered the most disgusting and vile movie ever made. Massimo Foschi and Ivan Rassimov star as Robert and Rolf, two scientists working for an oil company who lead an expedition to an island near South America. Soon after arriving, things begin to go awry, as they gradually begin to realize that they are trapped in the jungle with an ancient cannibalistic tribe. When two members of the team are captured, along with the entire advance team, Robert and Rolf must find a way to infiltrate the cannibals' camp and free their soon to be eaten friends.Though JUNGLE HOLOCAUST does not have the amount of gore that gave CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST its notoriety, it is considered by many to be a superior film. Like its successor, it features a host of gruesome, inventive, and sickeningly realistic cannibal sequences, as well as laughable dialogue, gratuitous nudity, and a potent sense of dread, making it a cult favorite and an incredibly shocking experience.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseInteractive Features: Scene Access Interactive Menus
